Vintage 9ct gold & enamel signet ring
This is a really fun signet ring and a great way to add a pop of colour to your ring stack.
Made from 9ct gold with a silver, blue, white and yellow enamel face. The face has the English seaside town of Worthing’s coat of arms on it.
The Worthing coat of arms dates back to 1890. It includes three fish and a horn of plenty overflowing with corn and fruit on a gold cloth. They represent health given from the seas and the fullness and riches gained from the earth. There’s also usually a goddess holding a snake but I assume this was too intricate to fit on a ring.
Unfortunately due to being resized at some point the hallmarks are no longer present but it has been XRF tested. The gold is a warm yellow 9ct and has developed a lovely patina with age. There’s nice detail on the shoulders and the ring is still in good shape. Some signs of wear suggest this ring has some good age to it. A good weight and nice finger coverage.
