Refund policy

We trust and hope you will be very happy with your purchase, however if you do need to return something, here is what to do:

  • contact us at bait.and.duck@gmail.com within 7 days of receiving your item
  • return it within 14 days of receiving it
  • returns must be unworn and in the same condition they were received
  • return in original packaging
  • unless an item is significantly different to its description, return postage is at the customer's expense
  • please use the same shipping method, including insurance
  • customers are responsible for the items until we receive them
  • refunds will be minus the original shipping/insurance/tariff costs paid by Bait & Duck
  • conversion fees levied by Shopify will not be refunded
  • customs/import/tariff fees will not be refunded 
  • customised pieces, those bought on layaway and those marked as 'final sale' are non-returnable

INTERNATIONAL RETURNS

In addition to the above steps, you will also be asked to submit a customs form. Please ensure you mark the parcel as 'returned goods' or 'return to sender' and use the appropriate tariff code. If you need help with this, or any other returns matters, feel free to get in touch.

REFUNDS

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return and let you know if the refund is approved. 

Please note that resized, customised or pieces altered in any way at the customer's request cannot be returned.

A NOTE ABOUT THE CONDITION OF BAIT & DUCK JEWELLERY

As you know, we sell antique, vintage & pre-owned jewellery. This means they will have been worn and used in the past and may well have some imperfections. These imperfections are a glimpse into the past and tell a story about how these pieces were worn. We do avoid buying pieces with significant damage and where there are imperfections, we will try to show you in the pictures and tell you in the description. Please do take note of these to avoid disappointment. Unlike brand new goods, we cannot be held responsible for age-related wear or damage that occurs after you have already been wearing a piece. 

A NOTE ABOUT THE COLOUR AND TONE OF GOLD JEWELLERY

We understand that you may have a preference to the colour and tone of gold you choose to wear and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. However, like us humans, gold comes in many colours, tones and hues. A number of factors are responsible for this including the carat (gold purity), the age of the piece, how and where it was made, and how it's been worn. To complicate matters further, it's incredibly difficult to capture the exact tone of gold in photos. If you only like to wear a certain tone of gold, please do get in touch with us before ordering if you have any questions.
