One of the most sentimental Victorian motifs was the horseshoe. Worn as a charm to ward off bad luck. Unlike today's preference for the horseshoe to face upwards, Victorians often believed it should face down to pour luck onto the wearer.
This fantastic locket is made from sterling silver and fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1876, making it an incredible 150 years old. Apart from one small and very shallow dent on the back, it still looks amazing. It opens up to reveal two compartments, both sides have their frames, perfect for photos or keepsakes.
