Victorian silver 'Good Luck' bracelet
The Victorians were absolutely obsessed with symbolism. Symbols of love, symbols of death, symbols of luck, symbols of life and nature, the list goes on. Horseshoes featured heavily during this era and there were 2 schools of thought as to whether the horseshoe should face up to keep the luck in or face down to allow the luck to pour out onto you. Here you have a beautiful example of the latter.
A horseshoe bracelet made from silver (tested), that twists open and closed. The horseshoe has the typical lucky 7 nails and the words 'Good Luck' across it. Beautiful detailing on the shoulder and a gorgeous patina from age, although still in lovely antique condition.
