Victorian 9ct gold REGARD locket

Victorian jewellery loved coded language, embedded in symbols. Regard was a way of showing someone they were loved, remembered and held close. Especially when in locket form, held close to one's heart.

This well preserved piece is made form 9ct yellow gold, front and back. The gold is paler yellow on the faceted edges and richer yellow on the machine turned, bark type background. Even the bale is faceted, which is a lovely touch.

With some expected signs of antique wear, it remains in lovely shape, ready for its next keeper.
