Victorian 18ct gold, lapis & bloodstone spinning locket
This is a Bait & Duck favourite and a stunning piece of Victorian history.
Originally a pocket watch key fob, the key element has long been lost and so we have had it lovingly converted into a locket.
Made from 18ct gold (XRF tested) with lapis lazuli one side and bloodstone the other. On the lapis is engraved the name of the gentleman who this likely belonged to 'Leopold' and on the bloodstone it looks like it could be someone's initials. We like to think perhaps the initials of a loved one, making this piece even more special.
It opens and closes securely to reveal a small chamber for tiny keepsakes you can hold close to your heart.
We love everything about this piece. The buttery tone of gold, the solid weight of it, the lovely big bail, but especially the story it tells.
