Georgian multi intaglio seal roller/spinner
One of the rarest and most incredible pieces we've ever had the pleasure of stocking.
An early 19th Century roller/spinner fob carrying 7 semi-precious stone intaglios. Each cut with it's own beautifully crisp symbol, typical of the Georgian era:
- Cupid
- Cross
- Anchor
- Owl
- Elephant
- Dog
- Pelican in her piety
In typical Georgian fashion, the gold reads as a mix of tones and carats, from 12ct to higher, where a softer metal was needed for the rub over setting of the stones. We've added an antique 15ct bail for ease of wearing.
Given its age of around 200 years old, there are some expected signs of wear, including some old soldering, but the stones are what truly impress as they remain in remarkable condition.
This is a truly magnificent collector's item, giving us an isight into the past, that also looks beautiful worn.
