Georgian 15ct gold & bloodstone fob locket
A rare and beautifully preserved piece of wearable Georgian history.
Dating back to the Regency Era (circa 1830), this perfectly detailed fob is made from 15ct (XRF tested) gold, turquoise and bloodstone.
On one side you see leaves and flowers and on the other, grapes and tendrils. The bail is a twisting vine and the bloodstone base has the name 'Mary' engraved in it.
What we love most about this fob is the hidden locket. Open it up to reveal a chamber with its original glass frame. Right now the frame is not inside the locket, allowing the new owner the chance to insert something before replacing it. Once the glass is in place it's very difficult to remove.
So much incredible detail has gone into this fob, Mary must have been a very special lady. With minor age related wear, this piece is in wonderful antique condition.
