Heart lockets as we know them today date back to around the 18th century but gained significant popularity during the Victorian era. This beautiful, generous sized example is from late Victorian/early Edwardian era and is made from a buttery yellow 15ct gold. In the centre sits an old mine cut diamond, in a striking starburst setting.

Worn hallmarks tell us that this piece was made by Ahronsberg Brothers, Birmingham, 1902, and although has some minor surface scratches, is in lovely antique condition. Both frames are still in situ and while the locket does not snap shut, the hinge works well and it does not flap open.

Buttery yellow gold, a sparkling diamond and a starburst setting...we love this one!
