Essex crystal is a rare and beautiful art form of reverse painting onto a domed crystal cabochon. This technique gives the subject matter, in this case a super cute terrier, a 3D lifelike effect. It was popular amongst Victorian and Edwardian elite and finding them in this amazing condition is a rare treat.
The crystal is set into buttery yellow 15ct gold (XRF tested) with rope detailing around the edge.
